Mondays  Febraury 5, 26-Your Mac and You - Finally, a class just for Mac users! You'll learn the Mac way of doing things (which is much simpler than Windows), including email, photos, cool apps, music, iCloud,backing up, and much more! Time: 1:00pm-3:00pm

Thursday February 1-Special Indoor Photography Class: Like Your Camera, Love Your Pictures -Now that you’ve taken so many photos on our trips, come learn how what to do with them! We’ll cover how to transfer them from your camera or smartphone to your computer, and the cloud. As well as how to make them look better with free and easy-to-use photo apps. Plus, you’ll get valuable tips on taking better pictures with your device — including selfies! Time: 10:00am-2:00pm

 

Wednesday February 7-Excel for Seniors - for your Home, Business or Organization-We’ll keep it simple and cover spreadsheet basics, how use automatic calculations, make a budget and create charts and graphs. Don’t have Excel? You’ll find out about FREE alternatives for your computer, tablet AND smartphone! Time: 10:00am-2:00pm

 

Thursday February 8-Photography Trip to Yonkers for the Hudson River Museum and Planetarium. The Hudson River Museum is the largest museum in Westchester County. It features Glenview Mansion contains six period rooms displaying furniture and decor from 1877. The museum is also the home of the Andrus Planetarium. Admission is $5 seniors, $7 adults. (Planetarium is $3 seniors, $4 adults). WE ARE MEETING AT GRAND CENTRAL STATION AT 9:45 and taking the 10:17 TRAIN TO GLENWOOD Station. (Return trip: 4:31 PM from Yonkers). Round-trip fare is $16.50 adults and $11 seniors. Museum is a 10 minute walk from there (or a short cab ride if it’s too cold to walk). Restaurants in the area near the Yonkers train station.

 

Thursday February 8 -Color Me Mine -Come relax and create artwork on a lovely pottery piece for yourself or someone else. The Price: $30 includes selected pieces, paints, stencil, glazing and firing; other pieces are available at additional cost. Time: 11:30am Location: 123 Baxter Street New York, NY

 

Wednesday February 14-NEW SEMINAR: Instagram for Seniors- Instagram is a great way share your smartphone photos and videos with friends and family, as well as see photos shared by your favorite celebrities.  Come learn what all the “buzz” is about, how to use filters to enhance your photos (easy), and, of course, maintain your privacy. Time: 10:00am-2:00pm

 

Wednesday February 14- Valentine Mix & Mingle-Join fellow retiree’s and celebrate Valentine’s Day. If you would like to bring a short poem to read please feel free to do so.Time: 1:30pm -3:00pm. Refreshment Served.

Thursday February 22- Legal Benefit Overview –A representative from the law firm of Mirkin & Gordon will be here to provide an overview of all your legal services that are provided by CWA Local 1180. If you have any questions concerning your legal benefits or need consultation regarding a legal matter, join us.  Time: 11:00 am-12:30 pm A light lunch will be provided. 

 

Thursday  February 22-EPIC-New York State Prescription Assistance: EPIC is the Elderly Pharmaceutical Insurance Coverage Program.  It is a free prescription assistance program that seniors are eligible for if they meet certain criteria. A representative will be here to provide an overview of the program and how it can help you even if you have the rider or the union prescription plan.

Friday February 23 -Frames Bowling-Join fellow retirees for leisure bowling. No experience needed. Time: 12:45pm -3:00pm Sharp! Location: corner 40th Street and 9th Avenue Price: $25.00

 

Monday February 26-Supplemental Benefit Overview- Join us for a complete overview of the supplemental benefits provided by CWA 1180 and an open discussion regarding  Medicare and your other benefits. Time: 10:00 am-12:00 pm  Refreshments will be provided.
